The razor
Gotta razors were made in Solingen by Grah & Plümacher, and the 120 is the one they’re remembered for. Among people who shave with vintage razors, few models have a reputation like it. The steel is superb: it takes a remarkably keen edge, holds it well, and comes back to life with very little work on the strop. Many experienced shavers rank it among the best shaving razors ever made, and once you’ve used one, it’s easy to see why.
This one is the 6/8″ width, which gives a little more weight and a little more blade to work with than the 5/8″, and suits a firmer beard. It has a round point, the gilded Hamburg Ring etch, the tang stamped 120 Gotta, and its original box printed The Gotta Razor, Real Hollow Ground in Germany.
