The razor
Friedrich Schlemper made razors in Solingen-Merscheid, and Focus was one of the firm’s trade marks: the sunburst you can see on the box, the tang and the scale. This 217 dates to around the 1950s–70s.
It’s new old stock, meaning it was made and boxed but never sold or used. There’s no hone wear at all, the bevel is even, and the mirror (crocus) finish and white resin scales are as they left the factory. Razors this old in this condition, still with their box, guarantee certificate and hang tag, don’t come along often.

Restoration and condition
None needed. The blade is Solingen carbon steel with its original mirror (crocus) finish, and the scales and pins are original and like new.
